You can now set up a direct debit for your Balearic taxes to be charged from foreign bank accounts.

Effective immediately, foreign taxpayers, both residents and non-residents, can now make their tax payments using bank accounts in other European countries. This European regulation is in line with the provisions of the SEPA directive, which facilitates transfers and payments within the Eurozone, including the 27 member states of the European Union, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

This measure is designed to simplify the tax payment process and offer more flexibility to foreign citizens or residents with bank accounts outside of Spain. It also aims to improve the relationship with taxpayers, optimize deadlines for municipal tax collection, and benefit both local government finances and the taxpayers.

Advantages of direct debit:

  • Flexibility: You do not need a Spanish bank account to fulfill your tax obligations in Palma de Mallorca.
  • Convenience: Save time by having your taxes automatically debited from any account within the EU.
  • Security: Avoid missed payments or delays with automatic direct debits.
